How Can I Download Heat Arena?
Heat Arena is available for download from the AppStore for iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch - Click Here to Download.
As of 8th February 2012, the Android version is nearing completion and will be released soon.
How Much Does Heat Arena Cost?
We have asked a lot of people how they felt the Heat Arena App should be priced. What we have been told is that many engineers only work on one or a few brands (e.g. Vaillant) and do not want pay for ones they don't use. So Heat Arena pricing is brand-specific, which we feel is the fairest for everyone.
The App itself is free to download. Once you have the App, you will be able to see which appliances are available but will not be able to view the contents. As a user, you can pay to "unlock" a brand for a year, using a simple In-App purchase through your iTunes (Apple) or Google (Android) account.
We feel that the fairest way to price brands is according to how much information is held for that brand. Annual prices range from £2.99 up to just £7.49 for the biggest (which works out at a mere 2p per day). You will be asked by the App at the end of the 12 months whether you want to continue to access that brand for another year. The choice is yours.
So that you can see exactly what you can expect for your money, we have permanently unlocked Alpha Boilers (which would have cost £3.99 per year).
Why do you Only Unlock Brands for a Year?
Firstly, we are continually adding new information into the system, which is made available to users instantly. The App is not "static" but improving all the time. Most importantly, however, we wanted to keep the costs down for people who only need occasional access to a brand. It just seems fair.
What Does a Purchase Unlock?
It unlocks all applances for a brand (e.g. Baxi or Ideal)
Is it Possible to Purchase it all at Once?
No, you have to purchase each brand separately
What Systems Does Heat Arena Run On?
- iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch with iOS 4.0 or higher (iOS 4 will run on the iPhone 3G, iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, iPad 1, iPad 2, iPod Touch 2nd generation or newer)
- Android 2.2 or higher
Is A Trial Version Be Available?
The entire data set for Alpha is free of charge and included in the App download. That way, users can see exactly how the App works and then decide if they wish to purchase more information.
Will Heat Arena be Released on other Platforms?
At present we are developing versions for iPhone, iPod Touch, iPad and Android. If you want a similar solution for Windows or Windows Mobile, we suggest using Gas PartsArena
How Much Information is on the App?
There is information for around 7,000 appliances. This covers the vast majority of the domestic gas heating market and many commercial brands. What is held for each brand varies, as different OEMs release different material. It is possible to see what is held for each OEM before purchase.
How Often is the Information Updated?
We update the information whenever it is provided to us by the manufacturers. This information is immediately made live to App users.
Will Commercial Equipment Be Added?
We are always trying to add more information to the system, including for commercial appliances. Whatever information we get from manufacturers, we will add.
I have purchased a manufacturer but it still shows as locked.
Please sign out of Heat Arena and back in by doing the following: 1. Start Heat Arena; 2. Press options at the bottom right of the screen; 3. Press the Sign Out button; 4. Sign in again using your account.
Can I view purchased information on both my iPhone and iPad?
Yes. 1) Install the Heat Arena app on both devices. 2) Sign in to Heat Arena on your second device with the email address and the password you entered when creating your Heat Arena account on your first device. 3) The manufacturers will now unlock on both devices.
